ROCK SCHOOL OF DANCE

I rebranded The Rock School of Dance, a ballet company focused on guiding young dancers from novice to professional. The updated branding introduces a visual identity system that captures the movement and grace of dance, even in static designs. This project was created for my term-long Visual Identity & Branding course, where we were tasked with developing a cohesive, thoughtful brand system from the ground up.

LOGO

The logo features three dancer icons that shift from left to top to right, mirroring classical ballet positions. The movement is also meant to flow as if it is dancing to these positions.

VISUAL IDENTITY
BEHIND THE SCENES

I began by watching ballet videos to study the dancers’ movements. I then animated the poses in Procreate to plan out the animation, which helped me visualize the flow and style I wanted for the final piece.

TAKEAWAYS

Through this project, I learned how closely observing real-life movement can inform animation and design. Translating fluid dance motions into sketches helped me understand timing and flow, while learning After Effects gave me hands-on experience bringing these movements to life digitally, strengthening my ability to create expressive visuals.
