PROJECT PROBLEM
The goal was to redesign the Please Touch Museum’s brand and website to be more engaging for children while staying clear and functional. Once the new branding was developed, the highly saturated colors became challenging to manage within the UI, often overpowering key content and hierarchy.
PROJECT SOLUTION
To address this, I began by creating grayscale wireframes to establish structure and flow before introducing color. I then expanded the palette with softer secondary hues to balance the bright primary tones. By using bold primary colors and playful branding motifs that resonate with children, the final design became more inviting and engaging while maintaining usability and clarity.

LOGO
The logo features a child and hand combined, symbolizing the museum’s focus on hands-on, interactive learning. It uses a font that is humorous and full of personality, with “touch” in bright yellow to draw attention and highlight the museum’s playful, engaging experiences.
LOGO MARK
The logo mark can be used solo in minimal spaces, such as mobile designs, while still conveying the museum’s playful, hands-on spirit.

Body Text:

When developing the Please Touch Museum logo, I initially explored concepts featuring a hand and a child. After moving away from that direction, I revisited my early sketches and rediscovered the logo that ultimately became my final design! During the design process, I also created greyscale wireframes to place my highly saturated color palette effectively.

TAKEAWAYS
Through this project, I learned how to balance playfulness with functionality in branding, ensuring a logo is both visually engaging and versatile across different platforms. I gained experience in making deliberate choices in color and typography to guide attention and convey personality.
